2.1.1 You will not do anything that affects the integrity or security of this Website or causes or may cause harm, damage or unreasonable inconvenience to other users of this Website or us; and

The Website is designed for use by students registered with higher education institutions which are registered participants of the LifeStart programme. Registered participants include all higher education institutions situated within the United Kingdom and their affiliated campuses (which may be overseas). We have final say over which institutions are registered participants of the LifeStart programme.



5.1 All information, data and copyright material contained on this Website, including any trade marks (whether officially registered or unregistered), trade names, brands, logos and devices belong to us or to people whom we have given, or from whom we have received, ownership or permission to use such information data and/or copyright material. You must not use such information or copyright material unless you have written permission from us or the owner to do so.

5.2 You may download or copy the content and other downloadable items displayed on this Website for personal non-business use only, (i.e. to assist with modules or challenges), provided that you are not otherwise breaching these terms and conditions.

5.3 You will retain the intellectual property rights in any visual content (“Content”) that you upload to the Website as part of a module or a challenge. You must ensure all Content uploaded to the Website is yours, and does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third parties. But please see section 7.8 for further information about how we may use your Content. By submitting Content to the Website you acknowledge that we may independently develop, design or implement ideas or concepts that are similar to your Content and, where we have acted independently to your Content, you will have no claim in, right to or challenge against our intellectual property rights in those ideas or concepts.

“LifeStart Prize Rewards” terms & conditions


1/ Who can enter?

  • all students who register for the LifeStart Beta test on the or websites and who complete a challenge by the closing date;
  • students must be registered at a higher education institution which is a registered participant of the LifeStart programme. Registered participants include all higher education institutions situated within the United Kingdom and their affiliated campuses (which may be overseas);
  • employees of Virgin Money and anyone directly connected to LifeStart cannot enter.


  1. When can you enter?
  • The entry period for each challenge will be as listed and updated on the LifeStart website from time to time.

3/ How do you enter?

  • You must register on the LifeStart homepage and complete one or more learning challenge/s during the entry period to be eligible for the prizes as listed on the LifeStart website.
  • You must complete one or more challenge/s by uploading all necessary digital content to the LifeStart website before the end of the entry period to be eligible for the prizes.

4/ How are the prizes awarded?

  • Prizes will be awarded for each completed challenge as listed on the LifeStart website.

5/ How will the prize winners be selected?

  • All uploaded digital content received within the entry period will be entered into the prize competition and thewinners will be chosen at our discretion from all qualifying entrants.

6/ What are the prizes?

  • The prizes for each challenge are as listed and updated on the LifeStart website from time to time.
  • The prizes may be subject to further terms and conditions which will be confirmed when they are awarded.
  • The prizes are non-transferable.

7/ How do you know if you have won a prize?

  • We will notify the winner by email on the notification date which will be as listed on the LifeStart website for each challenge.

8/ What else do you need to know?

  • You must not use or infringe on anyone else’s intellectual property rights (such as someone else’s ideas, designs, concepts etc.). Provided that you do not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property rights, you will own the intellectual property rights in your content which you submit to us in when completing a challenge. If you do use someone else’s intellectual property we may reject your submission(s) and, if applicable, withdraw or request reimbursement for any prizes which we may have offered or awarded to you. We may develop, design or implement ideas or concepts that are similar to your content and, where we have acted independently, you have no claim in, right to or challenge against our intellectual property rights in those ideas or concepts.
  • Your personal information will be used to administer the LifeStart project and the competition. For further information about how your personal information will be used, please see our Privacy Policy.
  • You may be asked but are not under an obligation to participate in non-paid publicity.
  • The winners agree to allow Virgin Money to confirm their names and counties of residence to other entrants.
  • You can request the winner’s names and counties of residence by sending a stamped addressed envelope to:

  • The competition is subject to English law.
  • Events may occur which render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond our control and, accordingly, we may in our absolute discretion vary or amend the competition and you agree that no liability shall attach to us as a result thereof.
